$1,500 per week, looking for 3,6,9 or 12 week nurse's.

French Woods is located 2 ½ hours outside of New York City in the Catskill Mountains. A family owned and run camp since 1970, French Woods offers four 3-week sessions with more than 85 activities daily in theater, music, art, video, dance, circus, magic, waterfront, horseback riding, cooking, group, individual and extreme sports.

Our totally individualized program encourages campers to design a schedule that gives them the opportunity to further develop their skills and explore new avenues of interest.

We are searching medical staff to care for our campers and staff. Our state of the art Wellness Center includes private accommodations with private bathrooms, Apple TV and Internet. Camp nurses provide TLC, basic medical care and dispense medication. Children between the ages of 7 to 17 may also be accommodated.

You will be a part of a team including 8 nurses, a Charge Nurse, two Medical Doctors and a trained Medical Administrator. All Medical personnel use I-Pads with CampMinder software to document logs and treatment and access health histories and medical forms.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• The infirmary is staffed 24 hours a day, seven days a week.
• Administer camper (and staff) prescription medications as directed.
• Dispense over-the-counter medications as appropriate.
• Assess campers and staff who are ill or injured and determine if further medical attention is needed.
• Assist in stabilizing campers and staff requiring transportation to medical facilities.
• Contact parents of ill or injured campers and staff (if appropriate) and update them as necessary.
• Documentation of all injuries and care rendered. This involves documentation of all over-the-counter medicines, first aid treatment, and communication with parents, doctors or any other off-camp facilities.
• Maintain inventory of supplies.
• Keep infirmary clean and organized.
• Working directly with the PA or Doctor and Charge Nurse.
