Job description
The Phelps-Clifton Springs Central School District has openings for the following Summer Skills Academy Teachers.
- 14 Elementary Certified Teachers (Kindergarten-Grade 6, 2 Sections Per Grade)
- 7 Reading Teachers (Literacy and/or Special Education Certified)
- 3 Mathematics AIS Teachers (Elementary, Mathematics, and/or Special Education Certified)
- 6 SEL Teachers (Physical Education, Counselor, Social Worker, or other Special Area Certification)
Substitute Summer Skills Academy Teachers, Kindergarten - 6th Grade (July 10th - August 10th, 2023, as needed)
- 6 Substitute Summer Skills Academy Teachers, Kindergarten - 6th Grade
The successful candidate will need to:
- Demonstrate fluent understanding of NYS Learning Standards;
- Demonstrate strong skills and knowledge in subject area;
- Maintain a recovery mindset;
- Ability to utilize technology to coordinate blended/personalized learning sessions;
- Effectively manage several students and/or projects at the same time in a high-paced environment;
- Able to build a positive rapport with students and parents/guardians;
- Demonstrate the willingness to work with different learning styles and learning needs, ability to motivate reluctant learners;
- Demonstrate excellent written and verbal communication skills;
- Demonstrate ability to work effectively with colleagues with successful experience in working as part of a team;
- Make a strong commitment to professional learning and a growth mindset.
Job Qualifications
- Completion of a NYS Registered Teaching Program
- New York State Teacher Certification Exam – Educating All Students Test (EAS)
- Workshop – Dignity For All Students Act
- Fingerprint Clearance
