We are seeking an experienced Superintendent to assist with the planning and coordination of our construction jobs in the Washington Metropolitan area.

What the Superintendent will be doing:

• Overseeing onsite construction from start to finish.
• Supervising, coordinating, and scheduling the activities of construction or temporary workers.
• Communicating with the project manager to ensure that the budget is followed.
• Organizing the workers and ensuring that they are performing.
• Providing general inspection of the worker’s performance and safety.
• Coordinating with government safety inspectors on the standard requirements of the site.
• Overseeing the performance of quality control and assurance programs.
• Following the project construction process.
• Supervising the subcontractors.
• Updating the project schedule.

What the Superintendent will need to succeed:

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or equivalent combination of technical training and/or related experience.
• 10 years construction experience is required.
• 5 years supervisory experience is also required.
• Advanced knowledge of various construction disciplines, safety regulations, scheduling, cost and quality control, engineering drawings and other documents.
• Ability to supervise and evaluate craft performance.
• Must have excellent communication, negotiation and interpersonal skills.
• Knowledge of arithmetic, algebra, geometry, calculus, statistics, and their applications.
• Must be able to take direction well from others and prioritize responsibilities so that deadlines are met.
