Job purpose
In this role, you will work with the Senior Supply Chain Manager to support the North Central and Great Lakes region leadership and business locations. Primary responsibilities include the management of a team of Supply Chain Analysts, oversight of purchasing activities, replenishment, and inventory control within the regions. In addition, you will collaborate both internally and externally to ensure that all service levels and company objectives are met.
Duties and responsibilities
- Work with leadership to develop and drive an overall efficient and effective strategy for the purchasing function within the regions and division.
- Lead Inventory Management activities.
- Direct purchasing activities to ensure targets are met and quality is maintained as per service level agreements/operations metrics.
- Manage actions to reduce material costs, create greater efficiencies or better-quality resources.
- Accomplish department objectives by managing a team of direct reports and influencing business units.
- Oversee the purchasing process and build relationships that foster effective purchasing arrangements with vendors and division leadership.
- Drive sourcing initiatives aimed at improving productivity and efficiency to support company and account growth.
- Provide analytical support for division leadership and supply chain projects, including data collection, data analysis, score carding, and supplier market research.
- Lead process improvements to address key program challenges and to increase our ability to deliver upon our commitments.
- Conduct purchasing and inventory trend analysis, performance tracking, and reporting.
- Communicate, collaborate, and align with Regional Vice President and associated business locations on purchasing and inventory management.
- Responsibilities for approximately $650M+ in spend.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain or commensurate experience within Supply Chain
- 5+ years’ experience within purchasing and/or sourcing experience
- Demonstrated leadership skills and process orientation
- Strong project management skills
- Strong influencing and coaching skills with proven experience in developing and coaching a team
- Detailed experience with quantitative and qualitative analysis from financial outputs
- Understanding of strategic sourcing, process, supplier implementation, and change management best practices
- Demonstrated successful experience in working in a demanding, changing, and high-performance work environment
- Proficient skill with Computer Microsoft applications (Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint)
- Professional written and verbal communication skills
- Comprehensive knowledge of business acumen, financial concepts, and procedures
