Purpose
Motiva Enterprises is looking for a Procurement Team Lead to join our team in Port Arthur, Texas. In this role, you will have a team of Procurement Specialist that support the company’s strategic sourcing objectives.
Position Overview
  • Reports to Motiva’s Manufacturing Supply Chain Manager
  • Member of the Manufacturing complex Supply Chain Leadership Team
  • Works with internal stakeholders, external third parties and the Supply Chain team to continuously improve value delivery through the Motiva Supply Chain framework
Responsibilities
  • Develop and manage relationships with internal stakeholders and site leadership team
  • Build partnerships with Category Managers and help support/develop new category strategies
  • To direct, supervise and lead Motiva’s Supply Chain team, providing leadership in the development, implementation and oversight of Motiva’s procurement processes and policies
  • Provides consultation and technical assistance to staff on routine and complex, procurement activities
  • Actively engage with key stakeholders from different Business Units to gather business requirements and specifications and incorporate into sourcing strategies, supplier selections and decisions
  • Oversee the development of sourcing strategies to support the identified business needs in line with approved category strategies
  • Ensure the base plant supply chain team performs purchasing activities in compliance with procurement standards, controls, and ethical business practices
  • Select, drive, and develop suppliers in line with organizational business requirements and track supplier performance on a continuous basis
  • Provide guidance to supply chain specialist on how to qualify contractors and/or suppliers before they are awarded work inside the Motiva Manufacturing Complex
  • Develop approved contractors lists and work with end users in scope development
  • Develop and maintain on-going relationships with all relevant stakeholders to influence, shape and support key business requirements
  • Continuously seek out and identify ways of taking out cost (based on TCO approach) to meet individual and team targets as well as working with stakeholders to lower and optimize spending
  • Support the Supply Chain team in negotiating key commercial terms and conditions and liaise with Legal and Risk Management staffs as required to ensure contractual terms and conditions are acceptable and serve to minimize risk
  • Track and document scope of work changes, communicate with contractors as focal point for ongoing issue resolution, including warranty issues
Basic Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, Finance, STEM or a related field
  • 3 or more years of experience in procurement, supply chain, commercial negotiations, contract development, contract management or related field
  • Strong work ethic and strategic thinking skills
  • Organizational skills to manage concurrent initiatives and projects
  • Ability to build relationships with internal and external business partners
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Experience with ERP systems and Microsoft suite; Excel, Word, PowerPoint
Preferred Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering
