Orthopaedic Associates is a busy, 14-physician orthopaedic practice with four locations in Evansville and Newburgh, IN and Henderson, KY. We are currently looking for a reliable individual to become a Surgery Scheduler. This is a full-time, benefits eligible position with hours typically Monday - Friday, 8am - 4:30pm. We also offer a modified schedule option with four 9-hour days and one half day per week. We are closed on the six major holidays and employees are eligible for holiday pay and insurance after completing their first 60 days of employment. We also offer a lucrative PTO plan and have a 401k plan with a matching component.
The surgery scheduler will schedule surgeries for all of the physicians. The surgery scheduler will follow up on any and all inquiries pertaining to surgery scheduling. Incoming calls regarding surgery appointments and surgical equipment needs will be handled by the surgery scheduler.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Work and monitor surgery referrals entered by the clinical staff
- Schedule pre/postoperative appointments and surgery with the patient, the surgery facility and office after benefits and eligibility have been confirmed.
- Assist patients in office and over the phone with questions regarding surgery scheduling
- Communicate regularly with surgery facilities regarding scheduled procedures, patient names, surgery needs and precertification information
- Communicate clearly with surgery scheduling staff and Orthopaedic Associates’ surgeons regarding schedule changes and/or special needs/requests
- Assist with precertification/authorization or eligibility checks as needed
- Maintain patient confidentiality in compliance with company policies and procedures

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE
GED or High School diploma required, Associates or bachelor’s degree from accredited college/university and some experience in healthcare preferred.
