Position Summary: *
This position is accountable for the coordination and daily flow of supplies, implants and equipment in Surgical Services, which will include the oversight of the department specific point of use system for inventory management.

Essential Functions: *

• This position will ensure that procurement requests are received & accurately reflect clinical need, working closely with the OR Buyer and the Purchasing Department
• This position will be responsible for managing, establishing and maintaining appropriate par levels.
• Supplies will be checked and rotated on a regular basis to ensure that items close to expiration are removed from the clinical space.
• Routine inventory management will be done and reported to the finance department twice yearly to ensure accurate financials and product integrity.
• This position will be responsible for all receiving and stocking of supplies in the department.
• This person will work closely with the all the surgical team members and Vendors to ensure availability of all necessary items for operation.
• On an as needed basis, this position may be required to float to various other positions to maintain operations.
• This person will be cross-trained to pull Case Carts, order routine supplies, and other duties as typically assigned in the department to other patient care technicians.
• Must maintains knowledge of job-related duties and work within the hospital’s policies and procedures.
• Will maintain skills and competencies required for all areas of accountability.
• Will treats and handle all patient information as confidential.

Position Requirements: *

• Minimal High School Diploma or equivalent
• Preferred, Operating Room, Purchasing or Surgical Storeroom experience
• Knowledge and experience with surgical medical supplies ideal
• This position requires a high degree of critical thinking regarding Operating Room Operations.
• Excellent computer & organizational skills
