SUMMARY OF RESPONSIBILITIES/DUTIES:
The primary responsibility for the Fluid Power Application Specialist, System Design is to specify, design, engineer and quote, fluid power systems and components including hydraulic power units, custom valve manifolds and assemblies, hydraulic and pneumatically operated machinery and related equipment.
JOB DUTIES INCLUDE:
- Design systems, specify components, system layout, line sizing, etc.
- Design and quote power units for mobile and industrial applications.
- Perform engineering calculations.
- Perform systems analysis and make suggestions for upgrades or modifications.
- Develop fluid power circuit designs, complete schematic preparation and layout drawings.
- Utilize 2D and 3D CAD layout drawing software
- Prepare cost estimates for quotes and for use in sales presentations.
- Create project manuals, including schematics, B.O.M.’s, spare parts etc.
- Participate in joint sales calls with account manager as part of sales team and/or make sales calls independently.
- Perform research and development tasks and diagnostic testing of components and systems.
- Assist and sponsor the development of DFP product lines and systems.
- Become an in-house product specialist for DFP core product lines.
- Interact with customers, account managers, CSR’s, electrical integrators, engineering, production & service personnel.
- Manage assigned projects and maintain customer documentation in project files.
- Work with team members and maintain scheduling flow from sales, engineering and production
- Other duties as assigned by Management.
SKILLS/QUALIFICATIONS:
Extensive Fluid Power Background in Mobile or Industrial Hydraulics, Certification Preferred; Experience with Fluid Power Distribution Preferred; Experience with SolidWorks or AutoCAD; Experience with Electro Hydraulic & Proportional Systems, Filtration Technologies, and Understanding of Electrical & Electronic Systems Related to Fluid Power Equipment; Motivated to stay Current in Hydraulic System Design Concepts; Strong Project Management Abilities; Ability to Manage Multiple Priorities and Projects; Excellent Communication Skills (Written & Verbal); Highly Motivated Self Starter.
