System Engineer
About the Senior System Engineer
In this role, you will be responsible for designing and delivering solutions requested by
development operations and the software development group they support. The engineer is
responsible for maintaining critical client facing systems and to support internal operations. You
will also serve as an escalation point for all other system engineers and support specialists. The
engineer needs to be extremely agile to work in a fast pace, dynamic, rapidly changing and
growing environment.
Your primary responsibilities/duties will include:
Oversee and follow up on all installed systems and infrastructure (on prem
and cloud)
Lend a hand to the design of information and operational support systems
Designing and implementing different components which are offered by AWS
Maintaining cloud components to maximize uptime and minimize costs
Safeguard security, redundancy strategies, and back up
Collaborate with vendors and other IT personnel for problem resolution
Work with DevOps engineers to provide the highest levels of systems and
infrastructure availability
Assist with 2nd and 3rd level support
Design custom scripts to increase system efficiency and lower time on tasks
Ensure all components have adequate monitoring and logging to prevent
outages.
Test, configure, install, and maintain application software, system
management tools, and operating systems
Requirements :
Experience with managing Microsoft Windows Server environments
Expertise in Vmware Infrastructure
Experience with Storage appliances (Dell/EMC preferred)
High level knowledge of the service offerings in AWS
Experience with monitoring systems (Solarwinds and Site 24*7 preferred)
Deep understanding of Active Directory, LDAP, ADFS
Strong familiarity with Windows PowerShell and PowerShell scripting
Proven knowledge of VPN Technologies
Well-founded grasp of TCP/IP, DNS and DHCP
Quality experience with System Engineering
Linux Experience is a plus
