Works under the direct supervision of the Lead Teacher to carry out assigned tasks and duties. These tasks and duties include but are not limited to the personal care and instruction teaching and guiding proper behavior and behavior management hygiene and overall well-being and social emotional academic and other developmental activities of children in their care. It also includes preparation for and implementation of activities and maintaining cleanliness decorations and safety of the classroom and ongoing communication with children and parents. Ensures compliance with Virginia State Licensing regulations. Works within the Mission Vision Philosophy Purpose and Goals of the Riverside Child Development & Learning Center and Riverside Regional Medical Center.
Education: High School diploma or G. E. D required. Must be at least 18 years of age. CDA or other certificate program in Early Childhood Education preferred.
Experience: 6 months Early Childhood/Child Care experience required. Ability to create and prepare for developmentally appropriate activities for assigned age group. Must demonstrate ability to effectively manage classroom in the absence of the Lead Teacher. Must be able to use effective age appropriate and constructive discipline techniques with children as required.
