What You Will Be Doing
- Migrate from SharePoint 2013 to the latest version of SharePoint or SharePoint Online
- Migrate the ECMS site collections and documents to the latest supported version of SharePoint, while retaining document security and retention policies managed by the Gimmal Records Management product
- Improve the ECMS solution (ie improved search on large documents, integrating Adobe Sign locked documents, and automation of document organization based on meta data properties)
- Collaborate with project team to assess the current ECMS SharePoint 2013 environment to determine the best path forward to either migrate all sites to a new SharePoint 2019 server on prem or to the citys Office 365 SharePoint Online environment
- Deliver planning documentation on migration strategy that takes into consideration the Current System, Latest Microsoft O365 features, Enhancements, Gimmal Records Management, Security, Backup/Recovery, Search, Ease of Use, Automation
- Assist project team in architecting the new ECMS system, including SharePoint site setup, configuration of modern SharePoint document libraries, Power Automate flows to automate routing of documents based on file properties, etc.
- Participate in verifying all content has been migrated, functionality and search tools are working as expected, and that users across all involved departments are able to access and use the new SharePoint environment
