Job Purpose: *
The Technical Writer to produce high-quality documentation. You will join a team of subject matter experts and work collaboratively with product managers, business analysts, and software developers.

Duties:

• Work with internal teams to obtain an in-depth understanding of product and documentation requirements
• Work closely with the product managers, business analysts, development, and QA teams in order to document software changes, as well as create and maintain up-to-date end user documentation
• Produce high-quality documentation that meets applicable standards and is appropriate for its intended audience
• Write easy-to-understand user interface text, online help and developer guides
• Create tutorials to help end-users use a variety of applications
• Determine the needs of end users of technical documentation
• Study software applications and discuss with designers and developers
• Organize and write supporting documents for software applications
• Use photographs, drawings, diagrams, animation, and charts to maximize users’ understanding
• Select appropriate medium for message or audience, such as manuals or online videos
• Standardize content across platforms and media
• Gather usability feedback from customers and designers
• Create visually appealing and instructive software documentation targeted to end users
• Develop and drive user education strategy for application documentation
• Analyze usage and make content improvements based on user feedback
• Participate in user research and develop content based on User Experience/User Center Design and Usability
• Gather topic information, prepare written text and coordinate layout and publication specifications, incorporating work produced by other writers or designers
• Regular, reliable, and punctual attendance is required as an essential function of this role.

Requirements/Skills/Qualifications:

• Minimum of two years of work experience in technical writing of software documentation
• Ability to deliver high quality documentation with attention to detail
• Ability to quickly grasp complex technical concepts and make them easily understandable in text and images
• Excellent written skills in English
• Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office
• Ability to translate complex technical ideas into simple, easy to understand content for end users
• Experience writing and editing online product tutorials, user on-boarding, online user manuals, product on-boarding flows and Web content
• Experience using the MS Office Product Suite, Adobe Captivate; ScreenSteps, MadCap Flare or other documentation software
• Skills with graphics and video software (Adobe Photoshop, Acrobat, Camtasia as well as various open source solutions used in the creation of mockups and wireframes)
• Experience working in an agile development environment
• Ability to work independently with little supervision and handle multiple assignments simultaneously

Preferred Skills/Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in English, Computer Science or Engineering
