In anticipation of NASA awarding the Human Landing System (HLS) Sustaining Lunar Development (SLD) contract in the near future, Dynetics, a wholly owned subsidiary of Leidos, is seeking a Turbomachinery Technologist to promote HLS and other programs as part of a diverse team that develops lunar landers, other cislunar spacecraft, and a wide range of critical technologies for civil, military, and commercial space programs.

The Turbomachinery Technologist will be accountable for the fabrication and assembly of production support equipment, ground support equipment, development test articles, space flight hardware, and other systems used to assist turbomachinery manufacturing, assembly, transportation, handling, and test. The ideal Candidates will work well in a team environment and be self-motivated with a desire to learn new things.

Basic Qualifications

• Candidates will possess a High School diploma, GED, or equivalent work history.
• Candidates will have at least 10 years of work history in an aerospace manufacturing and assembly environment.
• Candidates will have demonstrated knowledge of assembly and fabrication of aluminum, steel, stainless steel, and mixing and application of various epoxies and adhesives.
• Candidates will be able to read, write and follow written manufacturing instructions and technical procedures.
• Candidates will have demonstrated knowledge of various hand tools.
• Candidates will read and comprehend engineering drawings and written work orders, and data inputs of defined process criteria listed in shop floor traveler(s)/router(s).

Candidates will be residents of the North Alabama area or willing to relocate to the Huntsville - North Alabama, AL area.

Other Qualifications

Preferred candidates will have an Associates degree.

Preferred candidates may have work history and/or working knowledge of the following:

• Turbomachinery standards, development, and production
• Handling of small and delicate hardware
• NASA engineering practices and processes
• NASA, DoD, or commercial space system development programs
