Who We're Looking For:
Velex is currently looking for motivated people that are interested in a career in the telecommunications industry. As a Telecommunication Apprentice, you will receive state of the art industry training while earning a steady income. Velex will provide you with hands-on training and the best gear available.
What You'll Do:
Your first two weeks will be spent learning from our seasoned professionals in a controlled environment. There will be a mix of classroom and hands-on training. After your training is complete you will be assigned to a crew where you will be able to show what you have learned as well and continue to learn. Training will include:
- OSHA 10
- CPR & First Aid
- Rigging
- RF Awareness
- Electrical Safety
- Ladder Safety
- Safe Climbing Practices, Procedures, and Rescue Plans
- Building Materials (BOM, Parts & Equipment)
- Construction & Installation Knowledge
- Quality Control & Closeouts
- Equipment Operator

The Skills and Background You'll Bring:
- Love of heights! You will be working on towers 100+ feet tall, with a 50 lb. load
- An understanding of basic computer programs
- Must be able to pass a drug and background test
- Must be 18 years of age or older
- Must be able to sit, stand, walk, and drive or ride in a truck for long periods of time
- Must be available to travel up to 100% for weeks at a time if required
- Flexible with shift work, to include maintenance window and weekends if needed
- Must be able to pass a DOT physical, if required to drive
- Local to the market
- Periodic air travel will be required
- Good oral and written communications skills
- Ability to speak, write and read English
Pay Range: $16 - $23/hr*
