Position Title: Temperature Screener
FLSA Status: Non-Exempt
Reports To: Director of Facilities, Facilities Leadership
POSITION SUMMARY:
Support REHAB’s effort in establishing a safe environment by performing temperature screenings for all employees, staff, patients, and other visitors prior to entering the facility.

JOB FUNCTIONS/DUTIES

Practices appropriate health and safety protocols and adheres to infection control standards.

Ensure policies and procedures are enforced, summoning security for assistance when necessary.

Ensures universal masking procedures. Provides a fask mask as needed.

Monitor and ensure proper use of the temperature screening kiosk.
-
When necessary, administer and interpret the temperature of individuals using a no-touch temperature scanner at designated locations prior to their entry into the facility.

Maintains confidentiality of temperature screening results; documents information as appropriate and required. Protects confidentiality by following REHAB’s policies and procedures as prescribed by following local, state, and federal mandates.

Provides scripted information and instructions for those individuals who have fever, signs or symptoms of viral infection that do not meet the recommended criteria for entering the facility. Reports cases to supervisor according to established protocols.

Serves as REHAB’s ambassador, to communicate with patients/visitors to provide them with customer service and appropriate resources. Refers and directs visitors/patients/vendors to the information desk and appropriate resources, as needed.

Properly sanitize equipment used for temperature screenings.

Ability to put on (don) and remove (doff) personal protective equipment (PPE) per REHAB protocol, as required.

Work in collaboration with REHAB’s security department.

During emergency situations, provide support where necessary.
ADMINISTRATIVE SUPPORT

Maintain confidential log with the documented temperatures of all individuals entering into the facility.

Report any concerns regarding the temperature screening process.

Understands the diversity of customer needs, and demonstrates the knowledge and skills necessary to provide services to both internal and external customers (i.e. stands in front of a geriatric individual and speaks slowly and distinctly, allows individuals with a disability enough time to complete tasks, etc.).

SCOPE OF PRACTICE:
The population served includes individuals affected by stroke, orthopedic related conditions, brain and spinal cord injury, amputation, major multiple trauma, and other neurological and medical conditions. REHAB’s patients range from pre-teen to geriatric age ranges.
JOB SPECIFICATIONS:
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
Education:
-
High school graduate or equivalent.
Skills/Experience:
-
History of honesty, truthfulness, financial integrity and fair dealing

Demonstrated customer service and interpersonal skills

Demonstrated effective written and verbal communication skills

Ability to follow social distancing guidelines

Ability to properly sanitize equipment and follow safety procedures
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Certification/Licensure:
-
BLS certification
-
University of Hawaii: COVID Tracing Training or John Hopkins COVID Tracing Training or equivalent.
Education:

Some College
Skills/Experience:
-
Prior experience in healthcare, taking and logging patient vitals, screening patients for symptoms, will be preferred

Knowledge of Google’s G Suite
