Job Description
What is it like to be a Test and Evaluation Technician? You will test and evaluate the latest Identification Friend or Foe (IFF) systems in preparation for installation on to new construction ships. You will work with advanced electronic test equipment using work instructions, set up a lab environment in preparation for the test events, and submit trouble reports when systems do not pass the acceptance testing. You will work in a lab environment with little to no travel and perform work with a talented group of technicians with a wealth of knowledge of the IFF system.
The hourly rate for the position is set by the Dept of Labor and is not negotiable. Current rate is $27.89/hr.
This position is located in scenic and historic Southern Maryland in St. Mary's County, near to the Patuxent River Naval Air Station.
There is no monetary relocation assistance budgeted for this position. Applicants must be currently residing in or state willingness to relocate self to St. Mary's County, Maryland or surrounding areas.
Required Education, Experience, & Skills
High School diploma and 1-2 years of related experience
Military or vocational electronics training
Ability to obtain / maintain the required security clearance

NEC 1571 / 1572
