Description: We are Lockheed Martin

This position is for a first line manager of a flight test engineering department at Edwards AFB, CA. This department is responsible for the planning, execution, and reporting of F-35 Flight Sciences flight test. Fully staffed, the candidate will manage the workflow of and provide leadership to five teams (~20-25 total personnel):
Flying Qualities, Performance, Air Data
Loads/Flutter
Propulsion
Environmental
Human Factors
Familiarity of LM Aeronautics leadership development processes (Full Spectrum Leadership) is highly desired.
The successful candidate will direct their teams through test planning, test execution, test reporting Test readiness Reviews, and Flight Readiness Reviews. This position requires frequent communication to varying levels of management to flow test results, request for resources, and to address technical issues.

A level 5 employee Typically has 14 - 20 years of professional experience

Basic Qualifications:
Engineering bachelor's degree from an accredited university.

Demonstrated experience with USG flight test processes is required.

Demonstrated experience leading/directing small teams in technical matters.
Desired Skills:
F-35 Design background.
F-35 Flight Test background.
Air Vehicle flight envelope expansion experience
Security Clearance Statement: This position requires a government security clearance, you must be a US Citizen for consideration.
Clearance Level: Secret with an investigation within 6 years

Ability to Work Remotely: Onsite Full-time: The work associated with this position will be performed onsite at a designated Lockheed Martin facility.
Work Schedules: Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.
Schedule for this Position: 4x10 hour day, 3 days off per week
Pay Rate:
The annual base salary range for this position in California or New York City is $135,800 - $256,000. Please note that the salary information is a general guideline only. Lockheed Martin considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education/ training, key skills as well as market and business considerations when extending an offer.
