Job description

Assist test team in building/assembling test fixtures and testing airplane closets, galleys and lavatories in a noisy, light industrial environment. This is a hands-on job that can occasionally be physically intense. Long hours and tight schedules are normal.

-Fluent in English (written and spoken)
-Capable of following verbal instructions
-Must be punctual, willing to work to a schedule, and capable of dealing with shifting priorities.
-Be a team player; able to work independently
-Be self-motivated
-Be willing to occasionally work late and possibly weekends

-Must be able to read technical drawings and build to those drawings
-Comfortable working with hand and power tools (grinders, saws, impacts, drills, etc)
-Experience with fabrication work (mechanical: carpentry and/or metalworking)
-General Assembly of Parts
-Manual Lathe
-Manual Mill
-Chop Saw/Table Saw/Band Saw
-other woodworking tools
-other metalworking tools
-Experience with general machinery maintenance (changing saw blades, replacing belt sander paper, bench vice cleaning)
-Must be able to lift 50 lbs minimum
-Steel toed boots required
-Comfortable with working on ladders, elevated platforms no higher than 20’ and comfortable with fall protection
-Willing to wear basic PPE (mask, gloves, safety glasses, safety shoes, hard hats, hearing protection, etc)
-Willing to use basic solvents like acetone; may be working with paint and various glues; willing to handle lead shot and ingots with gloves

-Experience using a personal computer to log hours and check email is a bonus.
-The ability to write legibly is a bonus.
-Experience with rigging and gantry crane use is a bonus
-Experience doing static/abuse/cycle testing is a bonus
-Experience with hydraulics, pneumatics, electrical systems is a bonus
-Experience with Labview is a bonus
-Experience with aerospace (specifically aerospace testing) is a bonus
-Experience with using torque wrenches, calipers, and other precision measuring equipment is a bonus.
-Experience with using pallet jacks, working around forklifts, scissor lifts, bucket lifts, and other powered equipment is a bonus.

Attention to detail, the ability to focus on the current situation, a questioning attitude (don’t follow orders without evaluating personal safety, looking for basic errors, thinking about the result), some previous experience with working around customers and privileged data…
