- Test set up of Automotive HVAC systems, modules, heat exchangers or sub-components such as blowers and actuators in order to perform performance measurements or durability life cycle testing.
- Understands the principles of a refrigeration cycle and the function of all the components and be proficient in diagnosing refrigerant system issues.
- Installation of instrumentation and equipment to monitor the test parameters including measurements of temperature, pressure and flow
- Interface with computer based electronic test systems
- Understand and execute tests efficiently and correctly
- Observes consistency in test data, interprets results and report irregularities to test engineer
- Diagnosis and resolve test component or bench issues, perform basic repairs and maintenance
- Ability to cross training in various Test Laboratory positions, become proficient in multiple test bench operations
- Take direction from test area supervisor for daily assignments
- Must keep work area clean and orderly
- AAS Automotive/Mechanical/Electrical Technology or equivalent experience is required
- 3 to 5 years’ experience as an automotive technician is desired
- Automotive Service Excellence (ASE) certification desired
- EPA Section 608 certification (refrigerate handling) – desired
- Strong mechanical aptitude/knowledge of automotive A/C refrigerant systems
- Effective interpersonal skills. Must work and communicate well with co-workers
- Proficient with PC based software such as MS Windows/Office
