Assist the Regional Traffic Engineer in the Northern Traffic Region, to ensure uniform conformance to the MUTCD for the safe and efficient operation of all state highways. Review ADOT construction projects from a Regional Traffic viewpoint. Review District permit projects as needed. Coordinate with District Maintenance and Operations regarding Regional Traffic issues. Develop training for TES's on details of Traffic Engineering, Reports and Citizen response studies.Model ADOT values through leading, coaching and developing problem solvers to implement and sustain a continuous improvement culture. Essential Job Duties:

• Oversee and direct the work of 3 Transportation Engineering Specialists located throughout the region. Conduct performance evaluations, and review/approve data collection and traffic study reports developed by them
• Attend planning study meetings and construction project review meetings, providing traffic engineering support to the design team
• Review and approve Traffic Impact Analyses for private developments
• Review and respond to complaints and comments from the general public
• Conduct research and train staff to stay up to date with the latest in traffic engineering technology

The Ideal candidate will have:

Professional Traffic Operations Engineer, as well as prior ADOT and/or traffic engineering experience.

Requirement(s):

This position requires possession of a valid Arizona Class D Driver License. Candidates for this position must complete and sign PART 1 of the State of Arizona Application for Employment at the time of interview, which will allow ADOT to obtain the candidate's motor vehicle record (MVR). If considered, PART 2 of the State of Arizona Application for Employment allows a record review and reference check. The most recent 39-month period shown on the MVR will be reviewed in accordance with A.A.C. R2-10-207.11 (H) and (I). The review must show an acceptable driving record prior to any offer of employment being made by ADOT. Employment is contingent upon an acceptable MVR and record review/ reference check.

Pay: $94,000.00 - $104,000.00 per year
