Purpose: Plans, coordinates, directs and assess the effectiveness of plant wide training activities and employee development programs.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Assists in hourly and salary associate training and development programs throughout the plant.
- Research and develop training material to provide the knowledge for change to promote continuous improvement.
- Conduct plant wide needs assessments and identify skills or knowledge gaps that need to be addressed
- Determines appropriate training methods per program (simulations, mentoring, on the job training, professional development, classroom, self-study etc.)
- Assess instructional effectiveness and summarize evaluation reports determining the impact of training on associate skills and how it affects KPI’s.
- Responsible for development and administering the annual training plan with assistance from department managers and staff to ensure training is conducted and in compliance with customer requirements and governmental agencies.
- Administers testing of associates for training or development/promotional purpose.
- Collaborate with department supervisors and technicians to develop training manuals/standard work, reference library, test/evaluation procedures, multimedia visual aids, and other educational materials for plant operations.
- Maintain the accuracy and timely completion of training records of formal training, on the job training and recertification programs.
- Monitor the daily activities of the training instructors and trainees in formal or recertification programs.
- Train assigned instructors and supervisors in effective techniques in training (Train-the-Trainer).
- Responsible for scheduling training classes (times, dates, associates, and departments).
- Compiles data and analyzes past and current year training requirements.
- Administers new skills based training program to develop current work force.
- Serve as administrator of the JTEKT Learning Center online training portal.
- Establish and maintain a training dojo.
- Coordinates established training courses with technical and professional courses offered by community schools.
- Drafts applications and proposals to submit to fund granting authorities such as government and foundations.
- Assist with internal and external audits and maintain accurate training procedures in the Document Control system.
- Other duties as assigned.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Proficient knowledge of Microsoft Office, Word, Excel, Access and PowerPoint.
- Strong organizational skills, able to work well under pressure and manage several tasks simultaneously.
- Self-motivated and able to work without close supervision.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Able to handle confidential information and maintain the highest legal and ethical standards.
- Basic knowledge of applicable quality, health, safety, and environmental management systems.
- Ability to work with all levels of the organization.

- Work is mostly performed in a normal office setting with minimal exposure to health and safety hazards.

- Travel by automobile and/or plane required approximately 5% of the time.
