Underground Telecom Lead

Position Summary

The position of an Underground Telecom Lead is to provide manual labor and support overall services for our aerial/underground network construction and network maintenance work. Will oversee laborers to get the job done.

Desired Qualifications

· Ability to safely work with small excavation equipment such as a mini-x or skid-steer. Knowledge of hydrovac's and compressors for air tools and missiling as well being able to work aloft using climbing hooks, ladders, and bucket lifts if needed to grab downguys are assist aerial crews.

· Possess a valid driver’s license

· Basic knowledge of and ability to operate various types of utility trucks and equipment in a safe manner

· Basic knowledge of and ability of hand tools and equipment in a safe manner

· Ability to communicate effectively with employees

· Willing and able to work in all weather conditions

· Able to lift/carry 50 lbs. regularly and up to 100 lbs. as needed with or without assistance

· The employee will need to have the ability to stand for long periods of time (up to 12 hours at a time), tolerate work in extreme weather conditions, speak and hear worksite safety instructions, withstand prolonged and repeated: lifting, standing, climbing, kneeling, reaching and feeling, crouching, and crawling

Responsibilities for Lineman

· Services may include placing poles, anchors and guys, aerial strand and cable, direct buried pipe, trenching cable, conventional and directional boring, placing underground conduit systems

· All phases of telecommunication construction include but are not limited to: Loading, driving, delivery, digging, removal and placement of various types, sizes and weight of construction materials and equipment

· Safely use hand tools and equipment such as wrenches, drills, ladders, lanyards, saws, lashers, climbing hooks, and more

· Setting up safety perimeter using signage, cones, safety barriers. Knowledge of working traffic control plans is a plus

· This is a full-time hourly position, expected to work at least 40 hours per week

· This position operates in an outdoor environment and is regularly exposed to outside weather conditions including extreme cold, rain, sleet, snow, humidity, high temperatures, and high wind

Requirements:

· Must be able to lift 75-100 pounds

· Must have valid driver’s license with reliable transportation

· Travel is required

· 3 Verifiable business references required

Pay: $24.00 - $27.00 per hour
