UPS is hiring individuals to work as temporary, seasonal Driver Helpers. Immediate work available - Start today!
This is a physical, fast-paced, outdoor position that involves continual lifting, lowering and carrying packages that typically weigh 25 - 35 lbs. and may weigh up to 70 lbs. It requires excellent customer contact skills and a lot of walking. As a Driver Helper you will not drive the delivery vehicle but assist the driver in the delivery of packages . Driver Helpers usually meet the UPS driver at a mutually agreed upon time and location each weekday (Monday through Friday) and typically do not work on weekends or selected holidays. Hours vary but usually begin after 8:00 a.m. and end before 8:00 p.m. Driver Helpers must comply with UPS appearance guidelines.

Essential Job Functions:
— Bend, stoop, crouch, squat, climb, stand, sit, walk, and turn/pivot throughout the duration of the workday
— Full-time: 8-10 hours per day, up to 5 days per week
— Report to work on a regular and timely basis and complete the scheduled workday on a consistent basis
— Ability to work varying shifts, additional hours and/or overtime depending on service needs
— Lift, lower, push, pull, leverage and manipulate equipment and/or packages weighing up to 70 pounds
— Assist in moving packages weighing up to 150 pounds
— Lift packages to heights above the shoulder and lower to foot level as appropriate
— Grasp, reach, and maintain control of activities associated with delivering and picking up packages, including operation of the Delivery Information Acquisition Device (DIAD)
— Have a sufficient ability to communicate, through sight, hearing, and/or otherwise, to perform assigned tasks and maintain proper job safety conditions
— Maintain an acceptable work pace
— Work in an environment with:
— variable temperatures and humidity (climatic conditions)
— exposure to dust, dirt, and noise
— enclosed work areas
— outside inclement weather
— Work cooperatively in a diverse work environment
— Demonstrate cognitive ability to:
— follow directions and routines

— processing up to 2-3 steps ahead
— Perform other functions that may be assigned

In addition, given the nature of the business, UPS retains the right to modify the essential functions of this position at any time.
