Job Responsibilities:
The Vaccine Logistics Associate serves as a contact between the Georgia Vaccine for Children (VFC) program, Center for Disease Control and Prevention’s Vaccine Distribution Center, and public and private providers enrolled in the VFC Program .
The primary responsibility of the Vaccine Logistics Associate is to provide technical assistance to VFC enrolled providers regarding public funded vaccine receipt, storage, inventory management, temperature excursion, replacement and return compliance.
The Vaccine Logistics Associate conducts routine review of provider vaccine inventory and wastage to determine compliance with VFC vaccine storage and handling, wastage, and replacement policies. The Vaccine Logistics Associate monitors the status of public funded vaccine shipments to ensure vaccine is received in viable condition. Using the CDC PEARS database, the Vaccine Logistics Associate reviews pending corrective actions to identify providers with noncompliance infractions that require vaccine replacement, distribute corrective action and replacement letters, and monitor open cases to ensure compliance is reached within 30 days.
An individual serving in this position, in addition to meeting the general requirements, must also be self-motivated, have excellent customer service and communication skills, possess problem solving skills, be familiar with Microsoft Office and strong organizational skills in order complete assignments in the designated timeframe.
Position Responsibilities
- Performs job duties with minimal supervision.
- Monitors, assess and evaluates VFC providers to determine compliance with VFC vaccine management, storage and handling policies and guidelines.
- Provides administrative support to the Georgia Immunization Program VFC Section.
- Provides technical assistance and advice to public and private healthcare providers and the general public to educate, develop, implement and improve immunization practices'.
- Compiles daily reports and submits in appropriate format within specified timeframe.
- Works with VFC Coordinator to develop and implement long and short term goals for the VFC section.
- Participates in Public Health Emergency response as needed.
