About the Role:

As the Vehicle Integration Engineer at TuSimple, you will work with the Integration Engineering team to retrofit and customize vehicles in our autonomous driving fleet. This role will also outfit vehicles ranging from passenger cars to SUVs to tractor trailers. Identify, escalate, and resolve issues with integration processes and contribute to the completion of critical projects.

What You'll Do:

• Ensure that are built to meet requirements.
• Contribute to maintenance and repairs of builds.
• Ensure that safety protocols are followed and identify potential risks.
• Use problem solving skills to resolve issues and escalate when necessary.
• Document any deviations from engineering documentation and report to relevant body.
• Installing mounts and brackets for electronics such as server racks.
• Retrofitting vehicles with high tech autonomous technology.
• Routing electrical harnesses inside and out the vehicle.
• Will Support EE team with wire routings and installation.

What You'll Need:

• At least 5 years of relevant industry experience is required.
• Bachelor's Degree or equivalent work experience and certifications in place of education is needed for this role.
• Electro-Mechanical aptitude
• Ability to comprehend technical documentation
• Manufacturing, assembly experience to include PCB rework, crimping, soldering and harness production
• Experience with hand tools and general power tools
• Electrical prototyping and troubleshooting debugging sensors, microcontrollers
• The use of CANbus tools and applications
• Experience with vehicle control integration
• Camera, lidar, radar, IMU calibration, verification and installation
• Root cause analysis solution oriented

What Will Set You Apart:

• Startup environment experience is highly preferred.
• Autonomous vehicle industry experience is also highly preferred.
• Electrical Architecture experience with sensor suite knowledge preferred.
• Blueprint reading
• Electronics installation experience
• Experience with fabrication
