Mountain Veterinary Hospital is looking for a Veterinary Assistant to join our team! We are looking for compassionate, motivated team players who are committed to growing their veterinary career. Prior experience as a Veterinary Assistant is a plus, but not required.

The Ideal Candidate:

• Must have a strong background in customer service and display a high level of professionalism
• Detail-oriented individual with great organizational skills and multi-tasking abilities
• Self-starter who is outgoing and friendly and enjoys connecting with others
• Gets along with the team and matches our practice philosophy
• Eager to jump in and help throughout the hospital, when needed (our team is cross-trained!)
• Ability to work 4-8s + Saturday hours (open to part-time for the right candidate)

Responsibilities/Skillset

• Answering phones and scheduling appointments
• General hospital cleaning and kennel duties
• Observing animal behavior and knowing when to alert a veterinarian
• Assisting in exam rooms
• Gentle patient restraint (small animal)
• Sample collection, nail trims and gland expression
• Prepping and cleaning for surgery
• Additional responsibilities such as venipuncture, injections, and more, based on training and experience

Mountain Veterinary Hospital is a full-service, small animal practice providing conventional medical and surgical treatment for dogs and cats as well as physical therapy, rehabilitation, and alternative medicine. Alternative medicine includes acupuncture, stem cell/platelet rich plasma therapy, and Chinese herbal medicine. To support our services, we have an underwater treadmill, two Class IV lasers, digital radiography, ultrasound, and in-house blood chemistry.
