Job Summary

Responsible of the development of projects, strategies and business ventures for nursing and clinical services in an assigned market.

Apply advanced technical knowledge of nursing and clinical services, along with external market practices to solve highly complex challenges. Sets the overall direction, strategy development and operational achievement of the plan for delivering quality, efficient, and cost-effective nursing care that is holistic and person-centered.

Supports the use of clinical nursing research and evidence based practices in the development of policies and procedures, standards of care and clinical decision making.

Actively participates in a strategic planning processes for the organization to include annual budget and goal setting; facilitates standard view for workforce productivity standards and for staffing tools to ensure consistency in operations.

Demonstrates and communicates commitment to performance improvement through systematic outcome monitoring of both administrative, clinical and financial data affecting care delivery and staffing.

Participates in the selection of technology and information systems that support and enhance the delivery of care and management decision making. Provides clinical leadership to ensure successful implementation and organizational change.

Collaborates with human resources to plan for and assure a competent, stable clinical workforce; partners with the education community to support strategies for workforce planning and competence.

Enhances the professional practice model and shared governance structure for opportunities to support the nurse-person relationship, the delivery of effective care and frontline nursing input into decision making.

Achieves compliance with regulatory and accreditation efforts through consistent, reliable system-wide implementation and monitoring; takes system-wide action to implement or mitigate regulatory directives.

Qualifications

Graduate from a nationally accredited nursing program preferred, but not limited to, Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE), Accreditation Commission for Education in Nursing (ACEN) and National League for Nursing Commission for Nursing Education Accreditation (NLN CNEA). Holds minimum Bachelor of Science or Arts in Nursing. Master of Science in Nursing or Master of Health Administration of Master s degree in related field preferred, but not required.

Minimum of five years experience in health care leadership with progressively increasing leadership responsibilities. Experiences in health systems with highly matrixed structures and experiences within the health care cross continuum are desired.

Holds an unencumbered RN license with the State Board of Nursing where the practice is occurring and/or Multi-State Compact License.
