The Vice President, Enterprise Systems is responsible for driving the transformation of our core enterprise applications portfolio in support of Abercrombie & Fitch’s plan for strategic global growth. This position will define the strategy and drive the execution of our Merchandising, Planning, Forecasting, HR and Finance systems, amongst others. The successful candidate will partner closely with senior business leaders in these functional domains to drive speed, agility, and scale. This leader requires proven experience in delivering complex technical solutions through strong business partnerships rooted in trust and data.

What Will You Be Doing?

  • Serve as the technical leader for our multi-year core applications transformation program and be accountable for the solution design, build, deployment, and ongoing quality across the portfolio
  • Develop a clear, convincing technical strategy that aligns to business priorities and objectives
  • Build trusted relationships with business leaders across the organization so that the enterprise systems team serves as a responsive and reliable partner to meet business objectives
  • Lead and manage a globally distributed team of 100+ highly skilled full-time and partner technologists
  • Effectively partner with Managed Service Providers to ensure support and growth of suite of technology within this domain
  • Drive the cultural changes necessary within the team to enable a continuous delivery model and foster a strong focus on automation of the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC)
  • Foster a strong customer service mind set throughout the application development team, while championing thought leadership and partnership with the business
  • Ensure operational reliability and stability of technology services and applications using industry standard and best practice
  • Develop and implement the service, people, and management processes necessary for delivering the right set of services at the right level for the business
  • Analyze and improve upon technology standards across the organization to maintain a technological and competitive edge within the market
  • Conduct research to remain up-to-date and knowledgeable regarding industry trends and emerging technologies in anticipation of new business needs and associated processes and system alterations
  • Recruit, develop and retain high caliber talent, especially for key application positions
  • Evaluate team members performance, provide candid feedback and high impact coaching that enables (and motivates) them to achieve departmental as well as enterprise goals


What Do You Need To Bring?

  • Minimum Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Business, or related field
  • 15+ overall years of experience with 8+ within retail merchandise and inventory applications
  • Knowledge of current and emerging computer architecture and technologies, application development techniques, including retail, customer focused, analytic and package applications
  • Proven ability to plan and manage the transformation of key domain solution
  • Ability to lead development and delivery of multiple complex business technology solutions into production that have achieved or surpassed business goals
  • Experience developing and supporting mission critical applications globally
  • Expertise with managing application development at scale, employing SDLC methodologies including Agile and Scrum
  • Ability to think and react in a high-energy, fast-paced environment, accepts ownership and welcomes responsibility
  • 10+ years’ experience working in a highly scalable and available on-demand solutions
  • Experience in strategic technology planning, execution, and policy development
  • Demonstrated ability to apply technology solutions to business problems
  • Ability to train and transform employees to current collaboration and communication systems
