The Center for Women and Families provides trauma-informed advocacy and support for individuals, families and entire communities affected by intimate partner violence and sexual assault. GENERAL FUNCTIONS: Provide executive leadership for the agency’s fiscal health and financial management and for its operational infrastructure. As a member of the Center’s Executive Team, contribute to development and implementation of organizational policy, major initiatives, and strategic vision. Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following: managing all functional areas of the accounting cycle, ensuring administrative support to all departments, providing financial reporting and analysis, managing budgeting, and overseeing treasury management and grant billing. Work closely with the Development Department to reconcile revenues, pledges, etc. Work directly with the Board of Directors on all financial and operational matters. Manage all communication and coordination with the Board Finance Committee, serving as Co-Chair with the Board Treasurer.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Produce accurate and timely financial reports for use by the Finance Committee of the Board and internal departmental Directors.
- Ensure financial systems and processes support the accurate tracking of various sources of revenue, including governmental and private grants, appropriately managing the use of restricted funds.
- Ensure financial systems are integrated and support accurate tracking and management of:
- Grants billing
- Personnel, especially associated with restricted funding sources
- Fund development activities
- Department and program budgets
- Work with the Board Treasurer and serve as Co-Chair of the Board Finance Committee, including coordinating monthly meetings and responding to Board inquiries.
- Lead annual budget development process, working with Directors, Vice Presidents (VPs), and the President, for presentation to and acceptance by the Board.
- Lead monthly internal manage-to-budget meetings with Program Directors, VPs, and the President.
- Support and supervise Finance Department staff by providing procedures and instruction for day-to-day operations.
- Develops financial strategies by forecasting capital, facilities, and staff requirements; identifying monetary resources; developing action plans.
- Monitors financial performance by measuring and analyzing results; initiating corrective actions; minimizing the impact of variances.
- Contribute, collaboratively and strategically, as a member of the Executive Team to provide agency-wide planning, development, and leadership, and exemplifying the Center’s values.
- Coordinate with VPs of Development and Human Resources, and Grants Director to provide financial analysis for various agency and programmatic proposals.
- Represent the agency as appropriate and assigned in various external capacities and with community partners.
- Negotiate, consult on, and manage all contracts and leases, and maintain a record of contracts, including key deadlines and expiration dates.
- Oversee business insurance policies, including applications and staying in touch with the insurance broker during the year.
- Oversee facilities management and kitchen operations, working closely with the Facilities Director.
- Develop a Risk Management protocol and collaborate with VP for Human Resources to Co-Chair agency Committee to provide on-going monitoring.
- Oversee preparations for annual financial audit, coordinating with the audit firm to schedule, track progress, and provide status updates to the Finance Committee.
- Serve as a member of the Benefits Committee, contributing to fiduciary oversight for the 401(k) Plan and collaborating with VP for Human Resources to negotiate and select annual healthcare and additional benefits.
- Participate in Executive-On-Call as assigned.
REQUIREMENTS
- Bachelor’s or master’s degree in Business, Accounting, Finance, or relevant, related field. CPA license preferred but not required.
- Minimum of 5-7 years financial management experience; experience in a not-for-profit environment is a plus.
- An equivalent combination of training and experience may be substituted, as determined applicable by The Center for Women and Families.
- Proficiency in common accounting information systems. Experience with NetSuite preferred.
- Proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, etc.), and HRIS software.
- Understanding of basic facility functions.
- Must have a valid driver’s license and maintain a driving record that meets CWF automobile insurance requirements and fleet vehicle usage policy.
- Must pass criminal background and annual Department of Motor Vehicle (DMV) or similar records check, post-contingent of offer of employment.
Annual compensation for the VP of Finance role ranges $81,196.49 - $101,495.61. Benefits include health insurance, dental and vision insurance, life and disability insurance, accident and critical illness insurance, and health savings and flexible savings accounts. Additionally, you will receive a generous paid time off (PTO) bank and will be eligible to contribute to a 401(k) plan that will include an agency match after 1 year.
