VOA Illinois is looking for 5 FULL-TIME AmeriCorps members with a passion for public health to serve on our team. You’ll support youth engagement, seniors, pandemic relief, improving health equity, and increasing access to health and social services. Member Duties : AmeriCorps members will serve as part of a team to design and implement healthcare programming in the Greater Englewood community of Chicago. The AmeriCorps members will serve as a liaison/connector between community members in Englewood, healthcare resources, and the community at large. It helps bridge conversations with community members and removes barriers preventing them from equitably accessing health and social services. AmeriCorps members will primarily serve in the Englewood area with specific target populations (e.g., seniors, youth, parents, etc.). Community Healthcare Workers will perform closely with medical providers, primary care teams, and other agencies to improve patient care and outcomes.
