Now Hiring - Volunteer Supervisor -
Hours: M-F 8:30am-5:00pm
The Volunteer Supervisor is responsible for, but not limited to:
- Assists with recruiting and training activities for the department.
- Participates in presentations and marketing of the volunteer program
- Assists with volunteer interviews, reference checks and initial volunteer screening
- Provides ongoing support of the volunteers to enhance recruitment and retention of volunteers to meet hospice's needs
- Orients new volunteers to facilities and homes
- Assists with the preparation of monthly volunteer timesheets and volunteer notes
- Schedules and conducts volunteer training
- Assists in the supervision of the volunteers.
- Follows through with visits and calls as needed to promote their comfort level and provide support
- Provide ongoing support and recognition for volunteers through telephone calls and visits
- Completes yearly supervisory visits of volunteers
- Schedules time in a flexible manner to accommodate volunteers' time
- Identifies and reports any and all infractions of volunteers, with regard to legal parameters, confidentiality and boundary issues
- Organizes and works with volunteers for health fairs and events
- Handles other office duties.
- Completes filing, typing and mailings and computer work as assigned
- Assists with preparation of the volunteer newsletter
- Attends team meetings as necessary for volunteer participation
Education:
Associate's Degree in a related field
Professional Experience:
- Preferably 2-4 years
- experience in a related capacity
- Must have a valid driver's license and a reliable source of transportation
- Must be willing to travel
- Excellent communication skills both written and verbal
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail
