Key Job Elements:

Reporting directly to this position are (10) Plant Managers, (1) Production Manager, and (1) Materials Manager.

Freight Car Repair: New car, remanufacturing, program work, miscellaneous car repair, inspections, locomotive servicing, switching

Responsible for meeting planned budgetary expectations for Earnings, Internal and External Quality Audit Goals, EHS goals including permit compliance, internal/external audits, and RIF, Continuous Improvement and LEAN development, and EOS improvement

Qualifications and Experience:

Extensive railcar repair related background is required, including both Contract Shop and Railroad Shop repair operations knowledge. This must include both Governing Regulatory Agency (AAR, FRA, DOT, & BOE) regulations knowledge as well as practical repair shop mechanical operations techniques.

Good working knowledge of applicable EHS and other Regulatory Agency (OSHA, EPA, DOL, EEOC) regulations is essential.

Candidates should have a track record of successful operation of large, high volume, full service railcar repair facilities, including extensive customer relations experience.

Demonstrated skill at financial analysis, problem solving, teambuilding, and leadership development is required. 4 year degree or equivalent experience required.

The position travels extensively; at least three (3) full weeks per month.
