This position will have overall responsibility for leading and directing Mexico manufacturing operations and associated support functions supporting multiple operating divisions. Primary responsibility is the on time production of high quality products in a safe and cost efficient fashion.

Job Description

• Oversight & control of the 3 Mexican Plants (Reynosa, Juarez & Nogales) to include:
  • Accountable for Manufacturing related SQDCP metrics
  • Resolves supply chain disruptions with respect to Mexican plants
  • Manufacturing P&L for the Mexican plants
  • Budget development and variance review for the Mexican plants
  • Establishes strategic direction for the Mexican plants
  • Capital Approval for the Mexican plants
  • Procurement of raw materials, sub-assemblies and finished products for the Mexican plants
  • CIP implementation for the Mexican plants
  • Inventory management for the Mexican plants
  • Quality & Compliance of the Mexican plants to include:
    • Quality performance of the products manufactured
    • QA Metric performance (to include QA RGLs)
    • Quality/Regulatory Inspections at the 3 sites
  • Environmental, Health & Safety performance of the Mexican plants & the BOC
  • Approval of Incremental & replacement hiring
  • Allocation of resources between the Mexican plants
  • Development of employees in the Mexican plants & the BOC
• Establishes & builds supplier relationships with Divisions & Regions
• Represents Mexican plants in hand-off activities (acquisitions, transfers)
• Reporting to corporate on an as-needed basis on the performance of the BOC
• Interfaces directly with the other BDI/MDSVP’s representing the Divisions for the coordination and roll-out of new product launches, design changes, substantial changes in divisional demand patterns, etc.
• Manages Supply planning for all BOCsites

• Develop long-term strategies for optimization of manufacturing operations in Mexico to meet Corporate objectives.
• Provide leadership and direction to multiple the manufacturing plants /organizations. Establish and monitor annual goals and objectives. Provide ongoing feedback regarding plant and organization performance.
• Foster an environment of continuous improvement in the areas of cost, quality, and service and manufacturing best practices. Drive BDPS through all manufacturing and administrative functions.

• Assure the selection, development, and retention of high caliber talent to meet the technical and professional requirements of the organization. Implement succession-planning activities for all areas of responsibility.

• Responsible for the development and administration of plant budgets.
• Assure compliance of manufacturing facilities to Quality/ Safety/EEOC and Environmental Regulations.
• Responsible for inventory objectives and accomplishment of service level goals.
• Assure procurement practices that creates competitive advantages in the area of low cost manufacturing, supplier based cost improvement and opportunities to have immediate access to most current technologies.
• Participate, as necessary in due diligence activities for acquisitions of companies, product lines and new technology.
• Key member of BDI Operations management staff.

Education and/ or Experience Required:

• Minimum BS\BA. Advanced degree strongly preferred

• Fifteen years direct experience in medical device manufacturing with hands-on experience in multiple disciplines. Experience managing multiple facilities preferred.
• Proven track record of implementing change, driving cost improvements and increasing efficiencies.

• Prior experience in a Lean Manufacturing or Six Sigma environment.
