Warehouse Agent

Department: Warehouse Operation

Reports To: Warehouse Supervisor/ Duty Manager

FLSA Status: Non-Exempt

Summary: Receiving, storing, building and distributes freight within established guidelines by performing the following duties.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Reads air waybill, freight manifest to determine the items to be moved, gathered or distributed.
• Conveys freight from receiving areas to storage or to other designated areas with forklift or transporter.
• Sorts and places cargo or items on racks, shelves or in bins according to predetermined sequence such as consignee, destination or nature of goods.
• Prepares inbound cargo for transfer to be delivered to other air carriers.
• Reviews all documentation for errors before any transfers or cargo deliveries made.
• Accepts dangerous goods cargo for transport (DG certified accepting agent only).
• Accepting outbound cargo and must be able to weigh, count, dims, take photo of cargo received.
• Inspect any special handling requirements to ensure specific operational and safety will be applied (ex: DG, Perishables, AVI’s).
• Performs cargo build-up and/or breakdowns, freight to and/or from skid, pallets or containers.
• Ensures that work areas are clean, garbage disposed daily and hazard free of loose nets, straps, etc.
• Work closely with the weight & balance, ramp and office operation.
• Must practice all company’s policy but not limited to: proper equipment operation, obeying speed limits when driving company equipment at the airfield.
• Other duties as assigned, but not limited to assist the ramp and work at the plane side.
• Scheduled work hours are strictly followed (Morning Shift / Swing Shift / Graveyard Shift). Some adjustments may vary according to changes in flight schedules and operational needs.

Required Skills:

• High School Diploma, GED or equivalent experience in Warehouse / Air Cargo Transportation.
• Must have a current driver’s license with no major violations over the past 5 years.
• Must be able to pass all pre-employment verification, including a ten year background check as required by US Customs.
• Ability to read and understand cargo documents, labels and tags.
• Logistics Industry experienced a plus.

Job Type: Full-time

Salary: From $21.88 per hour
