ABOUT THE COURT*
Superior Court of California, County of Los Angeles (Court) is the largest unified trial court in the United States. Its 580 judges and commissioners work in one of the 40 facilities within the Court's 12 judicial districts and are supported by more than 4,500 full-time Court employees. FOCUS ON EMPLOYEE SAFETY AND WELLBEING*
Court employees are considered disaster service workers under California Government Code section 3100 and are needed to deliver the statutorily mandated, time-sensitive and emergency services in times of local, state, and national emergencies. The Court takes its responsibilities for ensuring a safe workplace and providing essential public services to those who are required to come into a courthouse seriously; including its legal and ethical obligations to protect the workforce, justice partners, and the public from COVID-19. The Court has implemented various policies and protocols to protect the health and safety of its employees while delivering statutorily mandated essential services. This includes implementing technology to facilitate remote appearances for court users and expanding telework opportunities for employees.

ABOUT THE POSITION*
Web Design & Social Media Content Specialist create, edit, and maintain content for the Court’s website and social media platforms, including the preparation and reorganization of content for website redesign projects according to the Court’s established branding standards. Incumbents review website and social media analytics, create statistical reports, and make recommendations for improvements. Incumbents collaborate with court managers, users, and content contributors to determine objectives and user needs for webpage content and design, as well as with Court Technology Services team members to implement and maintain new platforms and applications, and to ensure optimal functioning of the Court’s website. Incumbents are expected to exercise sound independent judgment within established guidelines in the creative development, modification, analysis, and enhancement of the Court’s website and other social media platforms while effectively and efficiently meeting the customer’s operational requirements.

TELEWORK OPPORTUNITIES*
This position is eligible for telework following an initial training period.

SELECTION REQUIREMENTS:
To qualify, you must meet the following requirements at the time of filing:

A bachelor's degree from an accredited four-year college or university* in marketing, communications, English, journalism, graphic design, or related field -AND- three years of professional experience producing and managing digital media content and administering high-traffic websites.

Note: * Credit for experience is given based on a 40-hour workweek. Part-time experience is credited on a part-time ratio, i.e., working 20 hours per week for two months equals one month of experience. No additional credit is given for overtime.

SPECIAL CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT:

DESIRABLE QUALIFICATIONS: *
The ideal candidate will be independent, reliable, adaptable, and possess the following desirable qualifications:

Experience working with internal communications manager to administer and update content on the internet/intranet.

  • Experience with Modern SharePoint site collections, list design, and management, web parts, and content management.
  • Experience with developing content for digital and social media.
  • Experience creating mock-ups for web pages, web promos, digital advertising, and email blasts test/improve website performance, optimization and responsiveness across devices and browsers.
  • Experience working with Drupal, WordPress, or other related content management system.
  • Advanced knowledge and proficiency with HTML, CSS, digital communication platforms, web analytics, and social media.
  • Coordinate with users on web and social medial development and enhancement projects to ensure successful implementation.
  • Interview and engage with users and stakeholders to decipher and obtain data requirements and processing needs regarding projects.
  • Provide user support and training
  • Exercise appropriate independent judgment and effectively respond to changing business needs.
  • Work effectively, independently and follow through on assignments.
  • Work effectively with clients, users, and management team.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Suite, Adobe Creative suite applications, Dreamweaver, Illustrator, and Photoshop.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills conveying technical requirements to non-technical audiences.
