Responsibilities include but not limited to:

• 
  Conducts on-site inspection and review of facilities, notifies facilities of requirements of the wellfield protection program
• Reviews regulated substance reports from facilities located within the Wellfield Protection Overlay District
• Makes recommendations on enforcement against noncompliant facilities to regulatory officials
• Conducts investigation regarding complaints of pollution within the overlay district
• Consults with facilities regarding risk reduction projects

Minimum Qualifications:

• 
  Bachelor of Science Degree in Environmental Science, Public Health, Chemistry, Physical, Geology, Soil Science or Biological Sciences, or related field
• Minimum of 20 quarter hours college level chemistry including organic chemistry
• Current valid Ohio driver’s license & access to a motor vehicle
• Required to play an active role during a public health emergency, crisis, outbreak, incident, or event in which the Health Commissioner deems additional changes in responsibilities and working locations/hours.

• 5 years’ experience in the application in environmental or industrial chemistry
• Forty hours OSHA safety training and annual refresher course

Seasonal Employees: Benefits include Sick Leave accrued at 4.6 hours for every eighty 80 hours in active
pay status. Seasonal employees scheduled to work 40 hours during their period of employment will accrue vacation in the same manner as regular full-time employees and can use their vacation after completion of twenty-six (26) bi-weekly pay periods in active pay status. Part-time Seasonal employees (scheduled to work less than 40 hours) do not accrue vacation.

Intermittent and Temporary Employees: Long-Term Sick Leave accrual is based on hours worked.
