We are searching for a Workforce Chaplain – someone who works well in a fast-paced setting. In this position, you will provide pastoral care, spiritual counseling, and guidance to the Texas Children's staff and sponsoring organizations. These include consultation, training, development of programs, employee assessments and referrals, the establishment of community linkages, case monitoring, and follow-up.

• Evaluate employee needs for spiritual guidance and counseling. Initiate or recommend programs to meet those needs
• Provide spiritual services in a variety of settings throughout the organization. Arrange for group counseling, prayer meetings, and discussions
• Support the emotional wellness of employees through routine engagement and referral basis. Provide counsel or guidance. Will travel to other locations
• Provide referral service and act as a liaison for specialized assistance to employees and/or immediate family members with specific needs
• Administer or arrange for the sacraments and perform religious rites
• Provide the full continuum of crisis intervention, stress management, and grief counseling services
• Respond to requests for critical incident/crisis intervention services within 30 minutes of notification and follow protocol for identifying appropriateness, assessing need, and gathering information
• Collaborate with members of the healthcare team to identify and resolve problems. May act as a liaison between employee, family, EAP, and hospital healthcare team during periods of crisis
• Perform crisis intervention and follow-up in response to traumatic incidents as needed. Coordinate team response when applicable
• Create and promote healing and wholeness programs including Critical Incident Response Team activities and support the specialized ministry of healthcare chaplaincy in every setting
• Develop links and maintain working knowledge and relationship with community resources for referral and collateral assistance.
• Support the work of Texas Children’s in the greater community. Represent Hospital at interfaith meetings, and community events
• Advocate for client and organizational needs with the provider when appropriate. Act as a liaison between employees, supervisory personnel, and referral sources
• Establish and maintain effective working relationships with service providers’/community referral sources that provide affordable high-quality services to EAP clients in the spirit of cooperative assistance and continuity of care.
• Always protect client confidentiality, assuring that no identifying or other confidential information be overheard or read by others

Being fully vaccinated against COVID-19, including any booster dose(s) of the COVID-19 vaccine recommended by the Centers for Disease Control when eligible, is required for all employees at Texas Children’s unless approved for a medical or religious exemption

• 
  Master’s of Divinity degree or canonically acceptable equivalent through the Board Certified Chaplain Eligibility and Verification with Certification of 4 Clinical Pastoral Education (CPE) units through internship/residency with ACPE institutions required
• Licenses/Certifications: Board Certified Chaplain (APC - Association of Professional Chaplain, NACC - National Association of Catholic Chaplains, NAJC - Neshama Association of Jewish Chaplains, CASC/ACSS - Canadian Association for Spiritual Care/Association Canadienne de Soins Spirituals, AAPC - American Association of Pastoral Counselors required
• Ordination with a faith group required
• 2+ yrs of hospital chaplain experience and/or 5+ years of community experience highly preferred
