POSITION SUMMARY:

NOTE: CHATTAHOOCHEE VALLEY COMMUNITY COLLEGE OBSERVES EASTERN TIME. ALL TIMES ARE SHOWN IN EASTERN TIME.

This is a renewable grant-funded position. Continued employment is contingent upon funding from the grant. In accordance with the provisions of the Students First Act, ACT- 2011-270, non-probationary status is not attainable by virtue of employment in this position, the funding and duration of which are finite.

Under the general supervision of the Associate Dean for Workforce Development and Career Technical Education, the Workforce Training Coordinator performs a variety of duties associated with short-term training offered by CVCC. The Workforce Training Coordinator has primary responsibility for planning, scheduling, and coordinating training courses offered in the Continuing Education program and the Training for Business and Industry program of the Workforce Development Office. The Workforce Training Coordinator must prepare grant documents and follow grant guidelines that funds our programs.

Salary: Appropriate placement on Salary Schedule C3, Rank 1: $47,572-$75,267.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Manages all aspects of the short-term training programs, such as advertising, registering, scheduling, ordering course materials, coordinating credentialing exams, and other areas necessary for the successful development and completion of short-term training

2. Researches curriculum and remains up-to-date on developments within the industry.

3. Prepares proposals for businesses who are interested in contract training.

4. Gathers information from management, employees, and our industry partners regarding the effectiveness of completed training courses and constantly seeks to improve.

5. Assists in the recruiting process of instructors for the Continuing Education and Training for Business and Industry programs.

6. Works with Workforce Development and Marketing personnel to help create printed and instructional materials to be used in training and promotions.

7. Actively seeks current training methods and best practices to facilitate training.

8. Schedules and conducts meetings both internally and externally to proactively identify areas in need of additional training.

9. Works closely with the Workforce Development staff to gather and analyze data necessary to support grant-funded projects.

10. Develops grant-related documents for submission to the appropriate funding agency.

11. Works closely with staff of the Business Office to ensure that grant funds are expended according to ACCS policies and in compliance with federal, state, and grantor requirements.

12. Develops presentations to inform stakeholders of project status information.

13. Perform other duties as assigned.

SECONDARY JOB DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Assists the Workforce Development Office with reports and other duties regarding training programs offered.

2. Completes all mandatory employee training and participates in a minimum of two professional development activities each year.

3. Serves on internal and external committees and task forces as needed.

4. Travels as needed for project collaborations, to deliver presentations, training, or briefings, and to fulfill in-person meeting responsibilities for specific training programs.

QUALIFICATIONS:

1. Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university with a major in Business Administration, Management, Accounting, English, Education, Marketing, Communications, or other field that contributes significantly to the candidate’s ability to perform the duties of the position.

2. Minimum of three (3) years of related work experience.

3. Proficient in the use of MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).

4. Excellent quantitative and analytical skills with strong attention to detail.

5. Exceptional written and oral communication skills.

6. Skill in planning, organization, and management of projects.

7. Ability to work with limited supervision and with groups and individuals from diverse cultural and/or educational backgrounds.

8. Ability to schedule and manage tasks to meet deadlines and ability to adapt to changing work priorities.

9. Ability to communicate effectively with management and other departments.

10. Ability to effectively organize and manage multiple training initiatives simultaneously.

11. Strong understanding of business goals and standards for customer service

12. Ability and willingness to travel occasionally.

PREFERRED Qualifications:

1. Experience successfully managing state or federal grants.

2. Experience in instructional design.

3. Experience writing and managing grants.

4. Experience in a healthcare or post-secondary educational setting.

5. Experience in Workforce Development or Career Technical Education.
