2126 Associate Attorney IP / Patent Agent / EE CS / CA 90210

Our client is looking for an experienced patent practitioner (Patent Attorney or Patent Agent) with a strong technical background. Your responsibilities will be dependent upon your legal experience and/or technical background. The primary focus will be relating to the preparation and prosecution of patents, strategic portfolio counseling, patent opinions, licensing and due diligence.

Must have at least 2 years solid preparation and prosecution experience in electrical and/or software arts. Depending on your technical background, you may deal with electrical engineering (hardware, circuits, chip design, RF, wireless technologies, consumer and industrial electronics, control systems, etc.) or software technologies (user interfaces, operating systems, network security, mobile applications, databases, cloud computing, etc.), or both. Excellent opportunity for solid client interaction. Premiere work for an impressive client list.

Patent Attorney Requirements:

• 2 to 6 years of experience at a well-respected law firm or in-house department with a solid foundation in patent procurement and protection.
• Minimum BS in Electrical Engineering or Physics preferred, possibly Mechanical Engineering
• JD, State Bar, USPTO Bar
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to interact with clients from various disciplines and management levels

Patent Agent Requirements:

• 2 to 10 years of experience at a well-respected law firm or in-house department with a solid foundation in patent procurement and protection.
• Minimum MS in Electrical Engineering or Physics preferred, possibly Mechanical Engineering
• USPTO Bar
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to interact with clients from various disciplines and management levels

For Agents or Attorneys:

• This firm has an international client base, thus any dual fluency in Korean, Japanese, Chinese, or German is not required, but would certainly be valued
