OVERVIEW:

SLD Technology, Inc. is a young, lean, fast-growing company which designs and manufactures systems and components that simplify design, speed installation and deliver superior performance in hospitals and other healthcare facilities. Common applications include modular ceiling systems for operating rooms (OR), procedure rooms, exam rooms and pharmacies requiring unidirectional, low turbulence (laminar) airflow for close temperature and humidity control, and airborne contaminant removal.

POSITION SUMMARY:

The CAD Designer will be part of our Design team, report to our Design Lead and work closely with Project Managers, Sales, and Production to generate 3D (Autodesk Inventor) models, assemblies, drawings which document systems to be manufactured. Our products are custom-engineered variations on several standard themes, and creativity and attention to detail are crucial to translating detailed submittal packages into production-ready documentation.

An ideal candidate will meet all our Minimum Requirements as well as some of the Bonus Requirements we’re after. This position can be primarily remote, but there will be some required visits to the SLD facility in Milwaukie, OR for training and familiarization with our products.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

The essential functions include but are not limited to:

• Interpreting AutoCAD drawings to fully understand design intent and customer requirements
• Creating, modifying, and/or interpreting Autodesk Inventor models in compliance with company standards
• Checking and redlining drawings and 3D models from internal sources for compliance with company standards
• Updating completed work tasks and scheduling new tasks in company Project Management system

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

• 2+ years experience doing 3D parametric CAD modeling with Autodesk Inventor
• 1+ years experience using iLogic within Autodesk Inventor or other Inventor automation products
• Strong communication skills both verbal and written
• Knowledge of design techniques, tools, and principles involved in producing shop drawings, plans and models
• Ability to create and/or modify drawings with a high level of attention to detail
• Ability to work effectively in a team setting as well as independently
• Positive can-do attitude with ability and desire to be creative

BONUS QUALIFICATIONS:

• Experience in steel/sheet metal fabrication, manufacturing, and/or welding
• Experience with Autodesk Vault
• Experience with Autodesk Revit (creating parts and part families, light calculations, structural work, etc.)
• Knowledge of machines and tools used in metal product manufacturing facilities including presses, punches, lasers, welders, and powder coating
