Eaton’s AER FMC Fuel Motion Control Systems division is currently seeking a Accountant. This role is based in Irvine, CA.
The expected annual salary range for this role is $62250.03 - $91300.04 a year. This position is also eligible for a variable incentive program.

The Accountant assists in the preparation and communication of operating results, performance measures, and ad hoc information in a timely manner to the Irvine Leadership team. Job completed through gathering and analyzing data used in reports, presentations, and emails. Ensure that proper controls are in place to assure the integrity is maintained of the plant’s financials.
What you’ll do:
- Prepare and/or analyze daily status reports for Irvine sales, productivity, overhead and other metrics. Liaison with operations to analyze and explain all manufacturing variances – help in identifying corrective actions.
- Responsible for Irvine Site Capital Expenditure Forecasting and Processing. Assists in preparation of Capital Expenditure requests, prepared monthly forecasts, and closes out completed Capital Projects.
- Serve as a contributor to the monthly closing & rolling forecast processes providing high quality, timely, and accurate information to the controller and accounting team. Additionally, responsible for making journal entries and providing guidance on accounting adjustments.
- Provide support for SOX related activities around document requirements and assessment completion.
- Responsible for the assisting in the reviewing, analyzing, and updating of product costs and variances.
- Analyze operational and financial data, investigate variances, identifies business drivers, and evaluates their impact on the planned objectives.
- Prepare insightful variance analysis with commentary to aid management in business decisions.
- Assist with recommendations, development, and implementation of process improvements in support of departmental goals.
- Serve as a financial business partner to budget owners in monthly forecasting, financial reporting & analysis, and the annual development of departmental budgets.
- Assist in preparation of strategic planning activities, profit planning, and month end closing requirements.
- Lead Finance oversight of Cycle Count and Physical Inventory activities.
- Perform analysis/reconciliation of balance sheet and miscellaneous income statement accounts on a monthly basis.
- Review and resolve variances and report on outcomes of research.
- Coordinate and leads the site’s physical inventory and ensures the accuracy of inventory and making adjustments and performance analysis as needed.
- Ability to manage projects and prioritization of job duties and mentor Senior Analyst.
Qualifications:
Required (Basic) Qualifications:
- Bachelors' degree in Accounting, Business Administration or Finance.
- Minimum two (2) years finance/accounting experience.
- No relocation benefit is being offered for this position. Only candidates that currently reside within 50 miles of the Irvine, CA facility will be considered. Active-Duty Military Service member candidates are exempt from the geographical area limitation.
- This position requires use of information or access to hardware which is subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR). Preferred Qualifications:
- Knowledge of financial a manufacturing systems examples include Oracle, Mfg./Pro, SAP, and Longview.
- Knowledge of government contract accounting principles and practices.
