Job description
The accounting clerk is responsible for keeping all financial records updated. AC responsibilities include preparing reports and reconciling bank statements. The accounting clerk has to ensure that the company’s daily accounting functions run accurately and effectively.
- Print, follow up and maintain files according to company policy.
- Reconcile payments received with each with billing statements and post payment in appropriate property management system.
- Process credit card payments.
- Balance advance deposits.
- Prepare advance deposits refunds.
- Send out billing statements and maintain files on such.
- Prepare commission payments for travel agent/sites.
- Handle calls on disputed charges.
- Research and process disputed credit card charge-backs.
- Handle inquiries on charges from credit card companies.
- Maintains all files for incoming groups.
- Ensure all necessary information is contained in file before arrival date, according to department policy.
- Communicates with various team members to ensure accuracy of work.
- Communicates with Controller, General Manager, Front Office Manager and Sales Managers/Director as needed.
- Assists in completing reference checks for direct bill applications.
- Assists guests with any billing related inquiries and documentation, and act promptly to resolve any billing problems.
