Overview:
Summary:

The accounting services staff is responsible for various payroll/hcm functions within Workday and on a companywide scale.


Responsibilities:
  • Provide support in the functions of hiring, compensation, transfers, and terminations
  • Obtain the necessary training to serve as a reference for Payroll and HCM Administration
  • Ability to research and troubleshoot issues that may arise both at a management level and the end user
  • Work frequently with the Accounting Services Manager, Payroll Manager, HR Department and Controller related to payroll cycles in addition to month-end, quarter-end and year-end transactions
  • Review semiannual updates within Workday and assist in communication of significant changes
  • Work with external auditors and complete audit related schedules throughout the year
  • Effectively communicate with corporate and location personnel when completing the tasks mentioned above.
Qualifications:
Competencies:

  • Attention to Detail: with the high volume of journal entries and allocations to be completed and the amount locations impacted, attention to detail is a necessity.
  • Time Management: the ability to prioritize and complete projects in a timely manner.
  • Adequate Level of Accounting Knowledge: this would include the ability to complete projects applying proper accounting methods without the need of constant supervision.
  • Proficiency in Excel and other Microsoft Office programs: the majority of these tasks will be completed within Excel. Also, the individual will need to be able to affectively use Microsoft Word and Outlook.
  • Communication: with the numerous locations impacted by this position’s responsibilities, the individual will need to effectively communicate to corporate and location employees.

Education and/or Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance or a minimum of two years’ work experience in the field of “finance (general ledger, payroll and tax)”.
