Position Summary
The Accounts Receivable Associate is responsible for assisting with processing and receiving funds, maintaining student
accounts, processing student refunds, providing customer service to Cashier’s Office customers, and assisting with other
Business Office functions as assigned.
Essential Job Duties
- Greet visitors to the cashier’s office by providing assistance as required such as taking payments, reviewing
- Answer telephone in courteous and professional manner; make calls as needed.
- Balance daily receipts, prepare deposits and run receipt reports.
- Assist with managing student accounts, assessing appropriate fees, payments, and providing balance information
- Act as the main point of contact for off-campus daily deposits, and enter into Jenzabar after reviewing supporting
- File documents and maintain filing systems.
- Prepare and invoice for student accounts to governmental and private funding agencies.
- Assist with processing unpaid student accounts for collection procedures.
- Assist with responding to inquiries made in person and on the telephone regarding accounts receivable or student
- Assist with student account refunds as needed.
- Provide and receive cross-training with the Accounts Receivable Manager.
- Perform other related duties as required/requested.
Required Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
- Associate’s degree or two (2) years directly related full-time work experience is required.
- Knowledge of general accounting practices, office procedures and office filing systems.
- Knowledge of professional telephone procedures.
- Ability to work accurately and efficiently.
- Ability to perform multiple tasks and remain calm during frequent interruptions.
- Ability to establish and maintain cooperative working relationships with other employees, students and the

Information Technology Abilities
- Ability to operate a personal computer using the Windows environment.
- Ability to understand operating a personal computer within the Crowder College Network environment.
- Ability to use E-mail.
- Ability to perform Jenzabar accounting, posting, and data entry functions.
- Ability to perform basic word processing using MS Word.
- Ability to perform basic spreadsheet functions using MS Excel.
- Ability to use desktop calculator accurately.

Working Environment
- Work is performed primarily in an office environment and may involve frequent interruptions and distractions.
- Indoor office environment with little exposure to excessive noise, dust, and temperature changes.
- May require extended periods of time viewing computer monitor or standing.
- Responsibilities may require an adjustment of working hours occasionally which may include overtime, evening
