We are seeking committed and passionate After School Program Instructors to lead academic and enrichment activities as part of our San Francisco After School Programs. As a Program Instructor you will lead and mentor up to 20 youth in an after school setting. Bay Area Community Resources (BACR) promotes the healthy development of individuals, families and communities through direct services, volunteerism and partnerships in the San Francisco Bay Area.

The After School Program Instructor will have a chance to use their creativity and innovation to develop highly structured curriculum with the support and coaching of staff and supervisors. This is an exciting opportunity to play a critical role in directly impacting SF elementary school students while building your own organizational and professional skills. If you are interested in working with youth, this is an ideal stepping stone to career in education, to a credentialed teacher

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience and interest in working with elementary school-age children in an After School setting
  • Willingness to learn and be coached with professional development related to group instruction, lesson planning and student support services
  • Excellent constituent relations (students, volunteers, teachers, parents) and customer service skills
  • Commitment to teamwork and collaboration with diverse groups of people
  • Positive, creative and engaging personality
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong organizational skills and professionalism
  • Proficient computer skills (email communications and data entry)
  • Reliable and steady access to transportation (public transportation /personal transport) to travel within a defined region on occasion
  • Experience teaching to K-5 students and also working within a school environment
  • Experience working with a diverse community, students with specialized needs, and/or English Language Learners
  • Experience with data entry, email communications and computer proficiency

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $21.00 - $23.00 per hour
