Benco Dental is currently looking for an Application Development Manager on our Digital Commerce team!

As the leader of a team of talented software engineers, you will be responsible for guiding the design, development, and support of software applications that meet the needs of our users. Your key duties will include coaching and advising the team on best practices in web development, data and analytics, and low code solutions, as well as interpreting user requirements, planning and prioritizing projects, and monitoring progress. You will also play a critical role in continuously improving team performance by evaluating status and utilization, and making necessary adjustments. What We're Looking For:

• Experience with Agile development methodology.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related discipline, typically 10+ years of solid diverse experience in software development or the equivalent in education and work experience.
• Demonstrated ability at project management in a software development setting.
• Exhibits successful presentation and meeting facilitation skills. Comfortable negotiating and presenting to IT and business leaders.
• Strong initiative with regard to maintaining and enhancing technical skills.
• Able to establish credibility with clients, partners, and colleagues.
• Deep hands-on technical expertise including application design, development, and implementation.

The Position:

• Motivates and coaches an agile development team consisting of analysts, developers, and testers through all aspects of the software development lifecycle.
• Actively manages, tracks, and communicates project issues and risks, escalating when necessary.
• Stays current on technology and trends, assessing where and when new technologies can advance company business
• Evaluates the software development process to ensure continuous improvements in software delivery, quality and functionality
• Effectively prioritizes and executes tasks in a multi-priority environment.
• Takes ownership of work, overcomes obstacles and focuses on quality and results.
• Manages the recruitment, career development, coaching, and performance management of the development team.
• Performs other duties as assigned to support the efficient operation of the department and company.
