The Old Globe is seeking a part-time Arts Engagement Technical Theatre Teaching Artist with experience in Technical Theatre, specifically Lighting, Sound, Carpentry, and Production to help support current arts engagement programs throughout San Diego.

Teaching Artists work with The Old Globe’s community partners to teach interactive and engaging programs which help strengthen the Globe’s ties to community participants. The ideal candidate will be a highly motivated, organized, self-starting individual with strong attention to detail and background in working with diverse multi-generational audiences.

The Arts Engagement Teaching Artist will be responsible for making theater matter in various non-traditional theater venues. The Old Globe currently offers Arts Engagement programs with community partners in homeless shelters, rehabilitation centers, libraries, schools, recreation centers, senior centers, prisons, jails and other locations.

Preferred Qualifications:

· Production experience as a theatre artist in technical theatre skills

· Experience working with middle school and high school students

· Experience working as part of a team and independently

· Comfort working with a diverse group of children and families who may have similar, or different, life experiences from themselves.

· Language skills beyond English and Spanish. Highest demand languages include Arabic, Tagalog, and Vietnamese

· A track record of being both reliable and on-time.

Requirements:

· Must be able to work nights and weekends.

· Must be able to pass applicable background check.

· As of October 1, 2021, employees must be fully vaccinated for COVID-19 unless a medical or religious exemption would apply.

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $25.00 - $50.00 per hour

Schedule:

• Day shift
• Evening shift
• Night shift
• Weekend availability
