Position Overview
Assistant Mechanic - Will train the right applicant
This is a skilled position requiring the individual to oil and fuel trucks and equipment, and wash trucks and equipment at our Quarry location. This position will be primarily a support technician position. During the slow season the tech will be required to work in the shop performing maintenance on trucks and equipment and around the shop. Evenings and Shift Work
Wage Range: $21 to $26 per hour dependent on experience

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Primary responsibility will be oil, fuel, washing and other services on trucks and equipment.

• Services equipment as necessary.

• Lubricates and cleans parts.

• Must be able to function in the role with minimal interaction or supervision the majority of the time.

• Other duties assigned per supervisor.

Education and/or Experience

• High school diploma or general education degree (GED);

• and one to two years of related experience and/or training;

• or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations

• Standard Drivers License

Language Skills

• Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.

Mathematical Skills

• Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.

Reasoning Ability

• Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed, but uninvolved written or oral instructions
