Suncoast Post Tension, Ltd., a Keller company, is an established post-tension and rebar manufacturing company that has been in business for over 30 years. We supply construction related materials to builders from one of our eight facilities in the US. Suncoast Post Tension is looking for an Assistant Operations Manager to join our team here in Houston, TX.
Responsibilities:
Assistant Operations Manager – Duties
- Assists the VP Operations with long-term planning, directing, coordinating and overseeing operations in the organization, ensuring development and implementation of efficient operations and cost-effective systems to meet current and future needs of the company’s overall goals.
- Will work as part of a team that supports VP Operations in developing Standardized Training programs; Quality Programs; New Equipment Specification and Testing and Implementation; 5S Implementation; Product Improvement; Equipment Maintenance Programs; Insuring Production Plants pass twice yearly inspections by Industry Association Testing Agency.
- Provides backup information for the VP Operations communicating with other senior officials concerning shifting company priorities and ongoing projects.
- Will provide mentoring and training to Plant Managers, Assistant Plant Managers and Production Assistants.
- Will execute programs defined by Operations Manager in a timely fashion.
- Provides daily assistance to questions; problems that arise in plant operations.
- Ability to act as Plant Manager at a designated plant in the event of vacations or long term leave of absence.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in related field.
- Self-disciplined, conscientious individual who will develop a high degree of expertise and skill in our industry.
- Must be data driven, detailed-oriented, with primary focus on efficient completion of tasks and solving any problems resulting in producing high-quality output and decisions.
- Must be able to work effectively with both upper management; plant production management; plant office and production personnel.
- 10 years + experience in either or combination of Plant Management or General Management of production plant including general knowledge of P+L; Safety; Quality; Purchasing.
Other
- Position located in Houston, Texas.
- Position requires approximately 30% travel to 9 manufacturing plants located throughout the U.S.
- Bi-lingual (Spanish) a huge plus.
- Lean, Six Sigma and 5S experience a plus
