Job description
The doctoral research assistant is responsible for providing a broad range of office-related service through both special projects and recurring tasks, which include but is not limited to proofing, researching, grading, filing, writing, as well as any other hands-on assistance which is required by the VP, Dean, and the Director of Research. In addition, this position collaborates daily with other CSL faculty and staff as needed for errands and other necessary responsibilities.
Basic Requirements:
- Must be a Christian who is a member of a church that holds Jesus Christ to be their Lord and Savior and holds solely the Old Testament and the New Testament as sacred Scriptures.
- A personal commitment to Christ with qualities of a servant leader.
- A cooperative attitude toward DBU's goals, an understanding of the university, and caring for DBU students.
- The ability to organize, manage, solve problems, focus, and work well with others.
- Basic computer skills, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, filing procedures, and a willingness to learn other skills necessary (specifically knowledge of the APA writing guide) to fulfill job duties.
- A focus on detail while attending to multiple tasks and an ability to prioritize tasks.
- A willingness to work toward reaching goals, objectives, and deadlines.
- Must be an undergraduate or graduate student in good academic standing.
Basic Responsibilities:
- Must have a cooperative attitude toward DBU's goals and environment.
- Must work toward reaching deadlines.
- Must maintain the ability to set and reach goals, organize, manage, problem-solve, focus, and work well with others.
- Must maintain adequate knowledge, talent, and skill necessary to perform duties.
Specific Duties:
- Keep research log up-to-date on incoming and outgoing research methodology reviews and Protection of Human Participants Applications.
- Check references of incoming documents for correct format.
- Keep Protection of Human Participants files up-to-date and organized.
- Complete Citi-program training for Protection of Human Participants.
- Keep an up-to-date log of the location of research laptops.
- Change and update CSL Blackboard page when necessary.
